30th NZ International Magicians Convention 2010
The 27th New Zealand International Magicians Convention was held on Auckland's North Shore in 2004 and featured headliners Michael Ammar, Michael Finney, Tim Ellis and Sue-Anne Webster, Charles Gauci and David Ginn.
I would like to record a few comments regarding the recent Auckland convention, hosted by the North Shore club. It was a credit that such a band of young enthusiastic people could put together such an excellent four days. The venue was one of the best with facilities you could not fault. The line up of overseas performers was just like reading an American magic magazine. Workshops and lectures ran smoothly with that professional touch and the public shows were greatly enjoyed as was the banquet.
Michael Ammar - I never thought I would breathe the same air as him. David Ginn, what a live wire performer. Michael Finney, if you could not laugh with him you were dead! My old friend DeLarno with a delightful walk down "memory lane", Tim and Sue-Anne from Melbourne, talented, professional entertainers.
For the folk who for various reasons could not make it - don't miss it next time. New Zealand magic is indeed in safe hands if we let this crew have another go!"

"At the recent meeting of IBM Ring 160 Kiwi Magic, the Tony Wilson Ring, a motion was passed congratulating the Shore City Magicians Club Inc on the successful organisation of the 27th New Zealand International Magicians Convention.
I have been asked to write to your society to pass on that motion of congratulations and underline how much the members of the ring who attended the convention found the experience. Special mention was made of the high calibre of the overseas lecturers, the demonstrations, and the range and quality of the magic available in the dealers room.
We are aware of the large amount of time and effort that is involved by your small committee in arranging such a successful convention. You ought to be congratulated. Well done."
- Stanley R Goudge, Secretary IBM Ring 160
